The passion for DOURO started in 2011, when I visited for the first time the place that is recognized for having the most beautiful wineries in the world. And so the dream of one day becoming a wine producer at the Portuguese DOURO came about.

One day, my brother offered me a bottle of red wine at his house, a wine that I thought was wonderful, and soon he drew attention for being from the Douro region. Curious, I went after the Portuguese producer of that wine that I liked so much and ended up becoming friends with João Turegano.

João helped me find a farm in the Douro Superior and, in 2014, I was already making my first wine, CASA ÁLVARES RESERVA DOC 2014.

Surrounded by almond, olive, cherry trees, apricots and figs, 13 hectares are planted with native Portuguese grapes at QUINTA CASA ÁLVARES.

Today the dream of making my own high quality wine has become real, and fortunately it has been pleasing the large public and oenophiles around the world.
